About the artist
The engineer who paints what
logic cannot hold.
Simone Buzzatti was born in Genoa, Italy, into a family where art was never decoration — it was air. His father, an architect and painter, filled their home with canvases and took the family across Europe before Simone could properly read a map. Museums, cathedrals, piazzas — beauty was the backdrop of his childhood.
Then came engineering. And with it, the world.
Korea, Oman, Dubai — each posting a new culture, a new palette, a new way of seeing. Along the way, dozens of other countries passed beneath his feet, each one leaving something behind. Simone moved through continents with an engineer's eye and an artist's restlessness, absorbing colour, chaos, and human contradiction wherever he landed. The world didn't just inspire his work. It became the work.
Today he lives in Vancouver with his wife and three children — whose big emotions and unfiltered imagination quietly guide what ends up on the canvas. In his time off, you'll find him on long walks with Poppy, trying food he can't pronounce, or standing in front of a blank canvas at midnight, doing the only thing that makes complete sense.
By day — The Engineer
A world of precision, calculation, and control. But emotions don't follow blueprints. They accumulate quietly, unspoken and unresolved, until they find another way out.
By necessity — The Painter
Entirely self-taught. Every technique — layered acrylic, collage, glitter, bubble-wrap texturing, newspaper beneath the surface — was discovered through exploration, not instruction.
